Senior Mobile Engineer (Android/iOS)

Oakville, Ontario  - Permanent



Job Description

As a senior mobile (android and ios) dev you will work closely with the business, product, quality assurance, and dev team to deliver high quality products and features on time. You will be responsible for investigating new technologies, architecture and design, developing prototypes and investigating multiple solutions

In this role you will:
- identify ways to improve the native applications (android/ios) and tools to make the team more effective and innovative in their quest to deliver great products
- Prime SME for app development specifically with regards to next gen features and constraints, related performance, and algorithms and ML
- Ensure that we are taking advantage of the latest both mobile platforms have to offer
- Will research/investigate/recommend new technologies or approaches
- Understand/contribute to the technical solution from design to code level
- Provide technical leadership to teammates
- Remain hands-on with code
- Experience with object-oriented application design & concepts
- Promote improved defensive coding to guard against exceptions better
- Log/report for improved monitoring and detection of anomalies
- Establish and maintain high standards of software quality within the team


Must Have Skills:

- Degree in Computer Science
- 3-5 years + of mobile development experience on both Android (Java) and ios (Swift/Objective C)
- 5+ years OO software development experience (Java/C/C++/Ruby/Python/Go etc).
- Strong experience working in an agile development environment with a Software Development Life Cycle approach (including design, development, testing, requirements
gathering, planning/estimation)
- Experience with OOP design patterns and techniques.
- Working knowledge of UI intensive applications, web services, and databases, including accessibility, performance, browser compatibility, usability,
and fault tolerance

- Experience in mentoring and coaching others
- Strong sense of accountability, sense of urgency and professionalism
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions within time and budget contraints
