Job Description

Gurulink has been retained by a major player in the Robotic Surgery revolution. We're hired to assist in the build out and hiring of Robotics Software Engineers for the Robotic and Control Systems team at a major player in the San Francisco Bay market. The group is responsible for design and software implementation of robotics software and control algorithms. This team consists of a group of highly motivated engineers from the field of robotics. Some of the team members have PhDs and have contributed to research at some of the top universities in the world. This is a very passionate team on a mission to change the world of surgery.

As this startup is developing what they refer to as, “Surgery 4.0”, it is critical that candidates have experience with complex systems and strong cross-functional integration. It is anticipated that Surgery 4.0 will transform surgery by enabling every patient to receive the highest level of surgical care globally.

The ideal individuals have demonstrated experience with early stage product development, a real-time network, and must work well in a matrixed team environment as this is a large group of specialized software engineers. Ideal candidates will include those who have designed and implemented real-time control software for a surgical technology platform, real-time control software and communication interfaces, user input device interfaces, safety mechanisms, configuration loaders, and logging and reporting infrastructures. The role will include working closely with corporate partners, Verb employees, consultants, and vendors.


Must Have Skills:

-5+ years of production environment experience.
-Degree in Robotics OR have worked in robotics field for at least 5+ years.
-C++ & MatLab fluency
-BS in Computer Science (MS or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science or equivalent preferred)
-5+ years of experience architecting complex robotics or capital equipment software infrastructure
-Strong C++ skills
-Strong OOP skills
-Experience with RTOS
-Experience with multi-core software deployment
-Experience with hard real-time, high availability systems
-Experience with writing drivers for real-time networking
-Experience with source code control and code review
-Experience with standard C++ libraries
