Systems Network Administrator (Support)

Job Description

This Canadian based company providea end-to-end networking solutions that deliver. They are a proven supplier to service providers across the globe. In this role you will oversee all IT infrastructure services,(telecom, user support,network) which includes developing, planning, evaluating, maintaining and coordinating all information and technology systems for our client.

In this role you will:

- Plan and implement corporate IT to support business operations and company objectives
-Provide first-level IT support service to office, warehouse, and remote end users
Support and deploy all end user hardware including laptops, desktops, printers, phones and software
-Manage VMware infrastructure, corporate firewall, AWS, and managed switches
- Create and manage users/groups network access by their access rights
- Manage new employee setup ensuring all IT related requirements are in place
- Document new SOPs and update older SOPs as required
- Manage WSUS to keep servers and computers up to date
- Work with third party vendors to coordinate software and hardware repairs
- Maintain an inventory of all computer equipment
- Use the ticketing system to track tickets, log and follow up on IT support requests
- Install and maintain servers, storage and network devices, configure operating systems, and apply service packs and configuring and monitoring alerts
- Negotiate, administer and maintain IT services agreements/contracts
- Oversee the IT budget and capital expenses in accordance with the annual corporate budget
- Responsible for mobile device management
- Maintain facility security system including alarm, cameras and key fob access
- Configure and manage backup server using Backup Exec
- Provide help desk support for phone system set-up

Must Have Skills:

Technical Skills:
- Configuring enterprise servers, VMWare ESXI 5/6, SAN (iSCSI) with RAID systems, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, FTP, SNMP, SMTP and RDP
- Configuring and managing Linux and Windows based servers (2008/2012/2016),
- Proficient in Active Directory administration, managing users/groups, group policy, and WSUS
- Configuring and managing backup servers using Backup Exec
- Hands on experience supporting multiple operating systems (Windows 7/8.1/10 Pro), and other devices such as printers
- Proficient in installation/upgrade of PC hardware, printers and software
- Configuring web servers in IIS and Apache, securing the sites, and ssl certs
- Experienced with monitoring tools such as Opsview, D-view7, Nagios
- Experience with purchasing IT equipment, Microsoft volume licensing, Adobe cloud licensing and other software license
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of the Windows desktops and networking environment
- Working knowledge of desktop applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, IE, and Chrome)
- Knowledge of AWS (EC2 instances)
- Knowledge of Google Apps for Business is an asset
- Experience with Mitel 3300 system (configuring user extensions, phones, and ACD) is an asset 
- College Diploma in computer technology or in a similar program
- Minimum 2+ years of previous experience in network/systems administration

- Previous IT services contract negotiations experience is an asset
- Must be "customer-service" minded to help out users for desktop support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
