UX Specialist

Toronto, Ontario  - Permanent

Job Description

The UX Specialist will be hands-on in every stage of our product design and development process. You will use your expertise with strategy, wireframing, prototyping, analytics, usability testing, user interviews, and authoring feature enhancements to guide development efforts and create products that deliver exceptional user experiences.

The ideal candidate will be able to translate business needs into clearly documented and defined features and solutions. The candidate should be highly confident in his or her ability to hear and manage stakeholder priorities and must also be a self-starter who is motivated to create revolutionary products, able to work well both independently and as part of a close-knit team, and perform multiple tasks on deadline under minimal supervision.

- Research the latest UX/UI concepts, trends, and best practices, and incorporate into our practices and design patterns.
- Deep understanding of how to balance content strategy, information architecture and user research points of view in product design work.
- Consult with client stakeholders in decision-making for user flows, sitemaps, execute and present wireframe mock-ups and proof of concepts.
- Act as primary point of contact for all project UX related status, including but not limited to presenting status during stand-ups and demos.
- Identify, discuss, and execute opportunities for improvements to the client experience, products, tools, etc., and actively improve scope of knowledge, refine designs, and recommend improved solutions through market research and customer data.
- Analyze industry best practices, client feedback, metrics tracking, and market/competitive analyses.
- Plan and conduct user research and ensure the product team empathise with our users and understand their needs and pain points.
- Run usability tests; Including recruiting participants, moderating sessions and writing up usability issues and findings.

Must Have Skills:

An education or related experience in UX Design, Graphic Design, Interdisciplinary Design, Media Arts, Computer Science, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or any related field.

- 5+ years experience in a UX role.
- Experience building and working with UX/UI design teams on complex User Experience centric initiatives within an Agile team environment.
- Working within the software development/digital products/service industry or other relevant professional experience.
- Experience with mobile is imperative.
- Experience with analytics implementations and A/B testing.
- Experience with usability test creation and implementation.
- Experience with user interviews.
