To support their continued growth and success, they are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a key team within the organization. Reporting to the DevOps Manager, this position will work closely with Development, QA, Production Operations and Architecture teams and will assist in the design, architecting and implementation of automated provisioning and deployment processes. The incumbent will also be involved in the design, documentation, and implementation of monitoring systems, testing systems and process definitions intended to accelerate our Agile development practices, to get us closer to the ideal scenario of Continuous Deployment into our production environments.

Your Challenge:

•Contribute to the careful planning of deployments and improvements to continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline
•Build automations and processes to quickly onboard new technologies into the platform so that these technologies can be rapidly provisioned throughout multiple production and non-production environments
•Work efficiently with an exceptional attention to detail around a high security environment (this company is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, and must satisfy multiple audit requirements across several third-party auditors
•Help us achieve Continuous Deployment, including automated notification, testing, and approval processes

Must Have Skills:

•5+ years of Unix/Linux server maintenance and automation experience
•Computer Science, Engineering degree or equivalent experience
•Experience with a wide variety of cross-platform integration technologies
•Strong security knowledge (Encryption/OS Hardening/Authentication/SSL/SSH/VPN)
•Strong scripting/development knowledge (Ex. Shell/Python/Ruby/Perl)
•Knowledge of Object Oriented development, library development and code-reusability best-practices (software engineering experience)
•Strong IP networking experience (Ex. routing/Ethernet/ARP/firewall)
•Expert debugger and log analyzer – you have the ability to quickly identify patterns and do root-cause analysis
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, an ability to create and maintain high-quality documentation
•Consistent attention to detail around status updates and use of issue trackers/ticketing systems (e.g. JIRA)
•Ability to quickly identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation
•Cool under pressure, you need an ability to interact with multiple teams and individuals (with varying personalities) verbally (in person) and via electronic communications
•Have a team mind-set - be proactive in taking on new work and assisting the teams you work with

Nice to Have Skills:

•Cross-distribution Linux experience (Ubuntu/Debian/CentOs)
•Java web services development experience
•VMWare experience (ex. vCenter, vSphere), hypervisor automation
•Recent experience with Jenkins and Ansible, or other orchestration technologies such as Chef, Salt, or Puppet
•Good knowledge of secure development practices
•Networking hardware experience, ability to automate interactions with network devices
•Strong SQL/NoSQL skills – ability to design simple relational database models, understanding of PK/FK relationships
•PCI-DSS or similar experience (ex. financial/government/healthcare)
•Previous experience as a DevOps Engineer, Production Operations Engineer, Linux Systems Engineer, Automation Tools Developer
