Members of the Technical Operations team leverage deep systems knowledge to attain expert-level knowledge of the platform and its features. To succeed in the team you should possess a proven ability to diagnose complicated platform issues and the ability to pinpoint the root cause. You are also able to drive efficiency through skilled application of new technologies and automation. Lastly you must be a strong communicator of complex technical concepts, an effective multi-tasker of time sensitive projects and a leader who can recognize problems and deliver solutions with little guidance.

The Role:

We are looking for a passionate technology expert to join our rapidly growing team. The position needs a dedicated person who will actively participate and lead projects in order to support our explosive business growth. Both hands-on and design experience is greatly needed. Experience in all or some of the following is being sought:
Automation tool development and design to improve operational efficiencies
Monitoring strategies for all aspects of a platform including hardware, network, backups, application stack
Upgrading, extending, and enhancing physical and cloud infrastructure
Troubleshooting issues relating to infrastructure and application stacks
Design of cloud based services and infrastructure
System administration, maintenance, and security
Configuration management for streamlining deployments

6+ years of related work experience
Familiarity and working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat, Suse, Ubuntu)
Good understanding of modern web technologies and stacks (Apache, Tomcat, NGINX, Express, Node.js)

Bonus Points:

Hands on development experience in a structured programming language
Hands on scripting experience in a popular scripting language
Experience working with a complex SaaS environment
Ability to build high-availability solutions in the Amazon and/or Google Cloud
Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with tools such as Nagios, Cacti, Sensu, Grafana, and similar
Ability to use and write custom deployment scripts for common configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, or Chef
Understanding of basic networking and security
Familiarity with microservices and their deployment
Experience with deploying Docker containers in production environments
